Governor Tim Walz and the Democrats of Minnesota have lost their marbles. After the end of the 2019 budget session, Governor Walz did not get what he asked for. In particular, he did not see an increase in the gas tax. This proposed gas tax was infamous for being ridiculously expensive, costing the average two-car household an extra $300 a year. Even with a 60% disapproval rating from Minnesotans, Governor Walz held tight to the idea of the gas tax.
Luckily, it failed but, Governor Walz is so stuck on his precious gas tax that he thinks Republicans will ask him for it next time around! The Minnesota Democrats need to let this tax go, it is not what Minnesota wants.
To avoid this horrible crazy thing we need to ensure that strong Republicans get elected. All of the Senators will be up for reelection in 2020, and if the Democrats win it will almost guarantee the gas tax increase will pass. We cannot let this happen, we must put an end to the madness.
