Colleges are supposed to be a place of higher education, a chance to grow and develop new ways of thinking and skills necessary to take on the world. Most colleges aren’t giving their students the proper opportunity to grow. They only show one side of thinking.

Colleges and Universities are censoring conservatives. Certain professors, students, and staff members take every chance they get to shut down conservative thinking. Free speech zones have been put in place to limit freedom of expression. Professors stop students who speak up for conservative values, oftentimes docking their grades as a punishment. Conservative speakers have been blocked from coming to campus, and the schools provide nonsense reasons for doing so.

There is no diversity of thought or respect for different opinions. Juvenile hatred and constant bullying are not what college is supposed to be about. Higher education should be an opportunity to see the world in a new way, and to develop your beliefs strongly, it is not supposed to be a time of fear and constantly worrying if you will be harassed for your beliefs.

It is becoming harder and harder to be a conservative on campus. As a conservative college student, I know this all from firsthand. Some days it feels like no one thinks the same as me, and that I am nothing but a stranger. It is exhausting and isolating.

With the new school year coming up, it is more important, now than ever, to show support for the conservative students. They need to know that they are not alone in their fight for free-thinking.
